Violet's First Easter

Contemplating some naughtiness with Grandma Pat's camera.
Vi with her parents, MommaDog and DaddyDarrell.
Grampa RJ and Great Grampa--with Great Gramma Carol in foreground--and EllieDog all inspect Violet in the sunshine.
Actually the HuggaMutt has learned to lick the living daylights out of the kid when she gets too obnoxious.
But Violet enjoyed her day out at Aunt VeggiGirls' Easter Brunch.

Violet's First Halloween

As always, Ellie is the older sister and gets her costume, too.
But Violet makes a lovely puppy, almost as cute as Ellie.
Grandma Linda learns the "football carry" with violet.
Emily snaps the Daddy and Baby a the door.
Doesn't matter how busy she is, Violet always responds to her Mama.
Violet needed a quick pickme up at times during the Trick or Treat period.
Linda gave her time with herself in the big mirror.
Babies always taste everything first.
Mama is one sexy witch, but Jake is not impressed.
Do you think Violet knows that those are really her own fingers?

A visit with Great Grampa and Gramma Olthof

So Emily and Daryl bring Violet to my inlaws' house. As the report goes, she crabbed and cried until she was fed. A rare moment of peace, before she starts the complaining.
These guys are pros at rocking the kid to sleep.
A lullaby always works.
Goodness what a crab. But Daddy Daryl knows how to soothe her.
All better.
Is this what a changeling is? Didn't think so. Nursing moms probably understand that the visit will interrupt the schedule. Our little one unfortunately has inherited the intolerance to milk that we all share. Feed, crab, feed, sleep, crab, feed. And on and on.

Violet at three weeks

She cries a lot. A lot. Feeding seems to help, though.
Brown eyes. Looks like her daddy, Darrell Johns.
One more of us bonding.
She just stares at Grampa. What is that all about?
He says she squirms a lot. Must be true, because I can't get a clear shot.

First Visitors: the relatives

Passed around from hand to hand, then settling in with Mamma.
Not entirely happy with the world, just yet.
Good set of lungs, though.
A quick shot of the official record, then leave the little family to have some rest and visit with the other family.
These are Daddy Darrell's people:
Great Grandma
At right Grandma Linda and Aunti Becky, and Great Auntie in bottom right corner.
Aunt Becky looking a little out of it. She had to run to work.
We filed out, hoping to see them at night.

Almost a week old

...with Violet at Gramma and Grampa Olthof's. Husband RJ and yours truly, of course.

Now, lest you think I'm all artsy-fartsy: all the photos have been processed to eliminate any detail of a rather untidy living room.

They also highlight my precious family.
